I have a 2007 Citroen c4 grand Picasso 1.6hdi auto. I started getting the esp/asr and handbrake fault and now the abs and gearbox fault. I believe these are two different issues but I’m not sure. The abs and gearbox fault started coming on and would kick me out of auto, only allowing me to use manual up to 3rd gear. Hi. The rubbing and squealing is only apparent when the car is accelerating. less obivious from A3 upwards on the EGS Gearbox. The Citroen Mechanic said it is a gearbox fault and noticed that there is oil evident around I have a 07 C4 Picasso manual gearbox. It has hill start handbrake, the handbrake works fine manually. In the morning on first start up, it takes longer for the fault lights to illuminate, 3/4 minutes. After running the lights appear sooner, Fault lights are: Auto P off, ESP fault, Service. Visited Marsh Citroen yesterday was loaned a Xsara Picasso diesel which was just an old runabout but I had a Exclusive model previous to the C4 so not a problem and it was better than shanks pony ! Our car was tested for 9 miles by Dave and we then drove the 40 odd miles home NO PROBLEMS it seems to be cured but will keep everyone informed. We had a diagnostic done at the dealer and have asked the dealer in France for a full report of the work carried (in particular a written report on the problem they noticed the second time around), and there are currently around 20 codes up on the computer : c1335 RR rh wheel speed sensor. c1336 RR speed sensor ABS. Personally, my advice is to take the car elsewhere if that's the kind of advice you're getting. Just came back from Citroen they say they are 99% certain it's the clutch and flywheel. The reports says there is 5 errors 1 is p1739 I did check the report forgot to get it, i did see clutch slipping on one of the errors. e7j1. Everything ok for first mile or so then manual gear selection with paddles will not work and cannot select manual with lever it stays in auto. After about another 10 miles display pops up "Gear Box Fault etc". Local dealer has diagnosed and says requires new " Actuator 9802017380" at £1000 plus !!! Citroen say 8 hours to drop the engine and gearbox, change the clutch and replace everything. My local garage reckons he can do it in around 4.5 hours with a few 'shortcuts' but you need height to be able to drop it down as a unit. Hi. Got it transported to the dealers and it took over 2 weeks to resolve - it ended up being some faulty ABS sensor 2012 C4 Grand Picasso diesel with egs gearbox, 55,000 miles. Recently, I've found the car will accelerate normally in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears, but the clutch seems to slip when it selects 4th and 5th and to a lesser extent 6th gear. This can be interesting when trying to move into the space between two artics when joining a dual carriageway!
